How do I upload files to my website?
If you are using a popular html editor such as Macromedia Dreamweaver™, Microsoft FrontPage™, Adobe Go Live™, or other programs, they have built-in features for uploading your files.  You may also upload files using one of several FTP applications such as WS_FTP Pro.  You should receive FTP login information when you open your Alphanet account.  If you need further assistance, contact support@alphanetmedia.com.
What if I want to use Microsoft FrontPage™?
If you will be using FrontPage™, you will need to contact support@alphanetmedia.com and request that FrontPage™ extensions be installed.
How long before I can see my website?
As soon as your account is activated and you upload your files.  However, if you are transferring an existing domain or registering a new domain, it may take 48 to 72 hours for the DNS servers to begin pointing to Alphanet's server.
What is Domain Name Registration?
The process of listing your website address (i.e, alphanetmedia.com) in the domain name system (DNS) is domain name registration.  The goal of the DNS is for any internet user any place in the world to reach a specific website IP address by entering it's domain name.  Without a domain name, users would have to enter a long string of hard to remember numbers, such as 192.0.34.65.

How do I get my webstats?

How do I password-protect files on my website?
Contact your Alphanet representative with the folder containing the files you wish to protect, along with a username and password you wish to use.
How will I be billed?
You will receive an invoice quarterly for the following 3 months of service.  Invoices are due within 15 days. Alphanet Media Solutions accepts checks or money orders.  There is a $25.00 fee for returned checks.
How do I configure my e-mail client, such as Outlook Express? 
For Microsoft Outlook Express, go to Tools>Accounts.  Select the Mail tab, and click on Add. Follow the prompts to personalize your mail account.  For Microsoft Outlook, go to Tools>E-mail Accounts>Add E-mail Account.  Your mail server is a POP3 server.  Your Logon Username is your e-mail address, your password is whatever was assigned to you when you created your account, or whatever you changed it to.  Incoming POP3 is mail.yourdomain.com, Outgoing SMTP is mail.yourdomain.com, where "yourdomain.com" is the name of your domain.
Can I check my e-mail from any computer?
Yes, by using Webmail.  Go to www.alphanetmedia.com and click on Webmail. 
How do I check my webmail?
Go to www.alphanetmedia.com and click on Webmail.  Enter your e-mail address for username and enter your password.  Select whichever version of webmail you prefer, or change your password, forwarding options or autoresponder.
Why can't I log into my e-mail?
The reasons could range from unusually high traffic on the network to a restriction placed on your account.  If after several attempts you still can't log in, contact support@alphanetmedia.com.
Can I have my e-mail forwarded to another address?
Yes.  Go to www.alphanetmedia.com and click on webmail.  After logging in, select Forwarding Options.
How do I place filters, blockmail, or spam assassin on my e-mail account?
Contact support@alphanetmedia.com.
Can I upgrade my account?
Yes, you may upgrade your services at any time by contacting accounts@alphanetmedia.com.  You will be billed for the pro-rated additional costs for the remainder of the quarter.
How do I update my billing information?
Go to www.alphanetmedia.com.  In the Members Area, enter your username and password you were given when you opened your account.  If you are not sure what it is, contact accounts@alphanetmedia.com.
Is live tech support available?
Not at this time; however, plans are in the works to offer live support on a limited basis.
How do I change my password? 
Go to www.alphanetmedia.com.  In the Members Area, click on Webmail to change your e-mail password, and login using your e-mail address and current password and then click on change password.  To change your account password and billing information, enter your username and password you were given when your account was set up.
Do I have to have a domain name in order to have a website?
No, it is not necessary to have a domain name in order to have a website.  The address to your website would be www.alphanetmedia.com/~username, where "username" is the username assigned to you when your account was set up.
What if I am not satisfied with my service?
Alphanet Media Solutions is committed to customer satisfaction and will do everything possible to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.  By contacting support@alphanetmedia.com as soon as a problem arises we can try to resolve small issues before they develop into larger problems.  If for some reason we cannot resolve your problem, you may cancel your account and will receive any refund due within 15 business days.
How do I cancel my account?
You may cancel your account at any time by contacting accounts@alphanetmedia.com and providing your username and password along with your request to cancel your account.  Your account will be cancelled within 24 hours, and any refunds will be issued within 15 business days.
May I have adult content on my site?
No.  Alphanet Media Solutions will not tolerate websites that are adult in nature or link to another site containing adult content.  We will also not tolerate sites hosting gambling, warez, spyware, hate, or content that is deemed inappropriate for all viewers.  Alphanet Media Solutions periodically checks sites residing on our server to ensure compliance.
Can Alphanet Media Solutions cancel my account?
Yes, Alphanet Media Solutions may cancel your account if the content on your website is deemed inappropriate, or if you violate our terms and conditions.
